Lord God, my family and families everywhere are facing one dilemma after another. There is so much despair and confusion surrounding our immediate and extended families that support systems are deteriorating all around us. We all need a comforting word from you.
Give us more wisdom and a listening ear to you, whether directly or through your printed word in the Bible. Help us to stop leaning to our own understanding. Teach us to look to you for our strength and salvation. you tell us in Isaiah 12:2 "Surely God is my salvation: I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation."
We take comfort in knowing that you are our strength in every situation. Open our eyes to follow the path that you have set before us. Help us to become more aware of our sins and we ask for your forgiveness right now in the name of Jesus. We ask that you continue to shed your grace and mercy upon us as we seek more knowledge and greater understanding of all that you have in store for our families. We pray today in the name of your son Jesus Christ. Amen
Prayer for City and Community
Lord God, the father of peace and tranquility, we pray that the spirit of your righteousness be revealed to people everywhere. We condemn the spirit of self-righteousness that is running rampart in cities and nations alike. Help us to realize that it is your righteousness that brings us peace. Your word reveals that “the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever” (Isaiah 32:17 ESV) . We pray for unity, peace and a controlled tongue We ask for world-wide spiritual revival and a renewed focus on you.
Father God bless our children as they combat the relent wiles of satan on a daily basis. Help parents and children seek you in all their endeavors. Help our children and parents learn more of you—make time for you as you direct their paths to righteousness. Give educators and spiritual leaders revelation knowledge as to how to deal with a variety of disruptions and enticements. Matthew 19:14: Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Help us to integrate the fruit of the spirit in our homes , schools, communities, and political lives. We pray for help in banding love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faith and self-control in all that we do. We will forever lean and depend on you for guidance for our care and will forever give you the glory. We will continue to give you praise and honor. In the redeeming name of Jesus. Amen
